This place has really great pies! And affordable too. This steak, bacon and cheese one above was only $4.30 [as of Nov 2013] A similar thing at Banjo's would be nearer to $6.
When you enter the little shop, you'll see the owner busy rolling out pastry or mixing something and a huge industrial sized mixer that stands at the wall. There's even a place outside the shop to sit down and eat if it's not windy but it's been windy every time we've been there. I love the display of sweet treats in the fridge - hard to decide what to get! On this occasion, we got these:
Above, the vanilla slice $1.60 and the dutch apple slice, which were both delicious. I reckon this is somewhere the tourists should head to for a taste of Tasmania!
