Kawasemi in Moonah

Kawasemi - a Japanese restaurant at Dickinsons Arcade in Moonah

This place is always popular at lunchtime so, expecting a crowded place at dinnertime we made a booking to ensure a table!

The crispy takoyaki with mayo, bbq sauce and bonito flakes was delicious.
As were the crispy gyoza with tangy vinegar dip

this bento box [$22.50] was filled with so many interesting elements it was hard to decide what to eat first! There were 2 chicken kebabs [forgive the blurry picture, clearly taking photos in dim lighting is not my strength] potato salad, vinegary salad, sweetish omelette, soy stewed beef, a tempura prawn, rice and salad.
This was a different dinner bento [$22.50], with sashimi, sushi, pickles and tempura prawn and vegetables. Beautifully presented, and quite a lot of food! If I'd known  how huge this serving was going to be, we might not have ordered the appetizers.
for dessert: this is the adzuki bean crepe filled with bean paste and custard served with Peter's ice cream and slices of apple and orange. $6.50 at the time of writing.
Simple, but nice.

There were still customers coming in at 9pm, so I guess they open till late.
