Homemade pizza

Abt once every year i attempt to make pizza from scratch forgetting all the previous times where it turned out's always the crust I can't get right- too hard/soggy on top/ thick. Perhaps there's no way to get it right at home without a pizza stone? 

Think I might stick w ready made crusts in future!

How frustrating! I make pizza for us once a fortnight, using fresh ingredients for the topping, but the base is from our local Bakers Delight hot bread shop. I've tried every brand of pizza base in the supermarkets, but none of them are as nice as Bakers Delight.

thanks for the tip, i do hve a baker's delight just 10 mins walk from our house- think i might do the same from now on!
