We were up in Launceston last week for a short visit over the Easter break, beautiful scenery. The weather was perfect as well, with blue skies and not a drop of rain. However I wouldn't recommend ever going to any touristy area on a public holiday, there'll be too many people crowding into small spaces and noise all around! Which is fine if u're visiting some market in a city but I think that quiet is the best way to enjoy natural beauty.
