sushi rolls

sushi rolls are the new sandwiches. they're a popular choice for lunch as they're tasty, healthy-ish, easily available and portable. And they're eaten cold so no need to microwave anything! I love the fresh taste of vinegared rice and attempted to make my own sushi rolls. sashimi grade salmon isn't easy to come by [I dont know if I'd eat the salmon from coles or woolies raw] so I've used canned chicken [the mayo and smoked flavoured ones work very well] and avocado with shredded carrot and salad leaves as the filling. They work very well! cooked prawn, smoked salmon and canned tuna would work too. It's quite easy finding sushi rice, sushi vinegar and nori [seaweed] at coles or woolies so there's no reason not to try making these!

Hi Cell, Happy New Year! I love Sushi too, more so when I buy it at a genuine Japanese cafe or restaurant, of which we have two now in Eltham -yum!
I posted a reply to your comment on my blog, so I hope you see it. I should have emailed it to you I guess, but I was so incensed at what you wrote about being abused for flying the Aussie flag, I just hit 'post' and typed furiously!
